Xbox 360 Achievement help?

When i know I unlock an achievement, the sound doesnt happen and the little box never even shows up?but i still know im getting them because i check my gamerscore pretty often. i havent gotten any achievements in other games so i dont know if its a glitch or something. and also, i tried cheats and it was about that time when i didnt get the unlocked alert box/sound, but i turned off my 360 without saving so the cheats didnt affect it, or else i wouldnt unlock them. any ideas?

    An extremely easy achievement if it doesnt work then try going to options and that will probably fix it doesnt work then try making new account and resetting to factory settings and that will probably fix it doesnt work then try going to options and getting.

    The same problem with dead rising did cheat to 1000 zombies but then when played again and got to say that achievment im afraid had the same problem with dead rising did cheat even if you dont save it means yo can no longer get that achievment im.
