Why does my new xbox 360 arcade freeze on xbox live?

Should I move it closer to my internet router because I have a wireless router on my xbox 360 or is the new chipset, but when i’m off xbox live and i play my games they work perfectly.     The mains socket wothout the use of an extension cord.
