How do you transfer an Xbox 360 live account from a previous Xbox to a new one?

I recently traded in mine Xbox 360 system, which had a live account on it. I then bought a new Xbox and want to have my live account on the new one. How do I transfer my live account to my new Xbox 360?

    I believe you can just sign in with your XBOX live account and it will proceed to ask you if you want to download previous content.

    you can either “Recover the Gamer tag” which takes a while or simply move the hard drive or the memory card to the new 360. Your gamertag will be on the hard drive or the memory card.

    when you go on to make a new account put in your live account name it will ask you if you want to transfer it and you just say yes> you can aslo trasnfer it using a memory card if you have one.

    Recover your gamertag by putting in your gamertag, email address and password when you try to sign in
